# The Case for Dual Integrations

Are you in the market for a new Revenue Management System (RMS) and dreading the implementation process – specifically, integrating your new RMS with your existing systems? We totally get it. Implementations with legacy systems have traditionally been complex and arduous, and integrating your RMS with your Property Management System (PMS) can be particularly tricky.

The [N2Pricing™ RMS](https://4864103.hs-sites.com/hospitality/n2pricing?hsLang=en) team prioritizes making the implementation process as smooth and painless as possible for our customers. We understand that you may have concerns around your new RMS overloading your PMS or are worried about data discrepancies between systems. **That’s why our team recommends dual integrations to our customers! **

### What is a single vs. dual integration?

In a single integration, your RMS is only directly connected to your PMS. The PMS then passes that information on to the Central Reservation System (CRS). This increases the messaging load on the PMS and can create data latency issues.

A dual integration is setting up your RMS to connect with **both** your CRS and your PMS. This means that the RMS is pushing data to both systems simultaneously.

### What are the benefits of dual integrations?

We recommend dual integrations across the board for our customers as it:

1. Improves the performance of all systems, particularly the PMS
2. Improves the speed of rate, restrictions, and overbooking messages to the PMS & CRS
3. Improves the speed of reservation, inventory, and rate messages from the PMS to the RMS
4. Reduces discrepancies between the CRS and PMS as the RMS is simultaneously pushing the information to both systems, instead of funneling it through the PMS and then to the CRS
5. Mitigates the risk that is introduced by being integrated with only one system; essentially, if an issue arises between the integration of your RMS and either your PMS or CRS, then you have another integration as backup, reducing the overall impact

We recommend this approach regardless of your PMS provider. Additionally, if you have a single integration, your RMS provider isn’t able to provide support for discrepancies in the data between the PMS and CRS – you’d have to deal with your PMS provider directly as they are the ones pushing the data to your CRS.

A dual integration enables the N2Pricing team to provide more support to customers across the board, which is our #1 priority! We’ve seen great performance and easier troubleshooting thanks to the dual integrations we’ve set up for our N2Pricing customers.
